April 28, 2025
As of May 1, 2025, the Immigration and Population Growth (IPG) Branch will transition the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement application process to a new online system.
This change will improve the application process by:
- Offering a more user-friendly, mobile-friendly experience
- Including built-in prompts to help reduce application errors
- Enhanced user permissions now allow Authorized Signing Officers to assign organizational and immigration representatives to one or multiple applications within their organization.
AIP Designated Employers who wish to submit an endorsement application on or after May 1 can log into their AIP Online portal and complete the Access Request Form to obtain access to the new system.
The application process for employers seeking AIP Designation will remain on the current AIP Online portal.
IPG will continue to accept endorsement applications through the current AIP Online system until April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Applications submitted prior to this deadline do not need to be resubmitted.
Your Designation is still valid, but to use the new endorsement application process, your organization must first be set up and authenticated in the new system. If you are not yet set up, you’ll be able to request access starting May 1.
Q&A
Why are AIP endorsement applications moving to LaMPSS?
LaMPSS allows us to streamline immigration applications by using one system for both AIP and NSNP. It improves how we collect, review, and process applications, and gives employers better tools and visibility.
What happens to AIP Online?
AIP Online will no longer accept new endorsement applications after April 30, 2025. Starting May 1, you’ll be redirected to use the new endorsement application forms through LaMPSS. AIP Online will continue to accept applications for employer designations.
I’m already designated – what do I need to do?
If you’ve already been designated, our Immigration Team will need to ensure you have an organization set up in the LaMPSS and then send you a link to authenticate your “My NS Account” logins to access the new endorsement application forms. We’re onboarding high-volume employers first. If you don’t hear from us before May 1, you can request access through the online form on that date.
Do I need to reapply for designation?
No. Your existing Designation status remains valid.
Will the new application process be hard to use?
No. The new forms are mobile-friendly and include reminders and helpful prompts. Training materials and supports are also available. For additional assistance and information, email AIP-Online@novascotia.ca or call us at 1-902-424-5230.
Why is the Department moving to a new system after just launching AIP Online in 2022?
The Department is continuously working to improve its service delivery. Since AIP Online was introduced, we’ve identified a more efficient, cost-effective way to manage applications through LaMPSS—saving money and offering better service for employers. Prior to 2022, applications for AIP were being submitted by mail or email.
