Critical Vacancies

EE Notice of Interest

This page supports efforts to identify and attract qualified skilled foreign workers to fill critical vacancies with Nova Scotia employers who are unable to recruit locally.

Nova Scotia is leveraging the Express Entry system to identify potential candidates. Some individuals may have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in their Express Entry account as part of this process.

This initiative is part of Nova Scotia’s broader strategy to support priority sectors and address critical labour market needs.

This is NOT an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program or an endorsement under the Atlantic Immigration Program. If you are successfully matched with, and hired by, an employer with a verified critical labour market vacancy, you may be eligible to apply through one or more federal or provincial immigration pathways, including potential nomination or endorsement through Immigration and Population Growth.

How it works

We Search for Talent

Nova Scotia actively seeks qualified candidates to fill critical labour market vacancies that employers have been unable to fill locally. This includes identifying potential candidates in the federal Express Entry pool whose skills and experience align with these opportunities. In some cases, candidates may receive an Invitation to Apply in their Express Entry account as part of this process.

You Submit Your Information

If you have the skills and experience for an active vacancy and meet minimum immigration language and education requirements, you are invited to submit your information for consideration. You will be asked to provide details about your work experience, education, and qualifications.

Active vacancy forms are available below on this page.

We Review & Shortlist

Nova Scotia reviews all submissions and screens candidates based on the requirements of the role. Qualified candidates are shared directly with employers.

Employers Interview & Hire

Employers contact shortlisted candidates to schedule interviews and may extend job offers to those who meet their needs.

Explore Immigration Pathways

With a job offer in place, candidates may pursue the immigration pathway that best fits their occupation and eligibility, whether provincial or federal.
