NSNP Update: Stream Modernization & Temporary Portal Closure

novascotiaimmigration2025

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is modernizing its forms to improve efficiency and support the launch of consolidated NSNP streams.

Temporary Portal and Website Closure

To complete these updates, the NSNP application portal will be temporarily closed from February 13 to February 18, 2026.

Please note the following:

  • If you have an Expression of Interest (EOI) submission in progress, it must be submitted before February 13, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
  • In-progress submissions that are not submitted by this date will be cancelled automatically and progress will not be saved.
  • You will not be able to upload additional documents while the portal is closed.
  • NSNP website pages may be temporarily unavailable on February 17–18, 2026.
  • The NSNP application portal and website pages will reopen on February 18, 2026.

Stream Consolidation

NSNP streams will be consolidated from 10 to 4 to improve clarity, consistency and provide applicants with a modernized application process.

NOTE: Stream consolidation will not impact eligibility or the procedures for selecting submissions in priority areas such as Healthcare, Construction, and Manufacturing. Existing criteria remain unchanged; streams such as Physician and Critical Construction Worker Pilot will continue under the consolidated Skilled Worker stream.

Additional details on the consolidated streams will be released on February 18, 2026.

These changes apply only to the NSNP and do not affect the Atlantic Immigration Program.

Existing EOIs and Submissions in Processing

  • No action is required.
  • EOIs already submitted remain in the NSNP pool, as well as submissions currently selected for processing, remain active and are not affected by stream consolidation.
  • Processing of existing submissions will continue as normal.

Thank you for your patience as we implement these updates.
